During a recent staff meeting, Endeavour Elementary School staff and students honored Dentist Ron Sherman for his $12,000 donation towards the Endeavour Publishing Center. Dr. Sherman was presented a unique piece of art created by PTSA parent volunteer Jill Loveland and students. The piece features newspaper clippings from the recent Seattle Seahawks season and the announcement of Dr. Sherman’s donation to Endeavour Elementary as the Seattle Skyline. Blue, green, and white student thumb prints are also featured in the sky. Dr. Sherman shared, “I really wanted to give back to the community because it has been so good to me since I opened my practice in Issaquah. I can’t wait to hang this piece of art in my office. It will be a great reminder to me every day.” Endeavour plans to launch their Publishing Center in the fall. Principal Kathy Connally shared, “This donation will really help encourage our students to write more and get their writing published. Through the Publishing Center we’re planning on having students create one book for the school or their classroom library and another for them to take home. With this donation we’ll be able to purchase binding materials needed to make this possible.” Along with this donation, Endeavour is working with their PTSA to bring in an exciting children’s author to help kick off the launch of their Publishing Center.
