Skyline High School Students Celebrate 2021 Lunar New Year Virtually

Posted by Elizabeth Egan on 9 March, 2021
2021 is the Year of the Ox, considered a dependable and determined animal representing patience and achieving goals through consistent effort. The Skyline High School Chinese class hosted its first virtual Lunar New Year Celebration over Zoom this year. Activities included playing a Kahoot game featuring Lunar New Year traditions across Asia, having a scavenger hunt in a 360-degree virtual classroom, collaborating to make a Lunar New Year Poster on Padlet, watching a traditional lion dance video, and viewing classmates’ talent shows, like musical performances and a magic show about the Lunar New Year culture. The highlight was an online Kungfu Fan lesson led by Master Gao Xiang, a 34th generation Shaolin Kung Fu Warrior.
