Posted by Jake G. on 1 July, 2014

Literacy Support Teachers and members of ISD’s Teaching and Learning Department met with International Literacy Consultant and Author, Lucy Calkins at a recent Teacher’s College Writing Institute at Columbia University this week. The district’s elementary writing curriculum is based on Lucy Calkins work. Teachers had an opportunity to learn from Calkins and many other top notch educators on best practices in literacy and writing instruction.
