My name is Kathryn Coffin, and it is a privilege and an honor to be a part of the Pacific Cascade team. My family, (husband, Ben, daughter, Ella and, son, Freddy) and I call the Sammamish community home. We love the Pacific Northwest, and we especially enjoy bike riding, hiking and running. We are huge Seattle sports fans – even the teams that don’t always do very well J
This year marks my 17th year in education. I began my educational career as a math and science teacher in the Issaquah School District. I have varied experience as a teacher and school leader. For the first 10 years of my career I served at both the elementary and middle school levels, teaching a variety of grades and content areas (even spending three winters teaching kindergarten in Wisconsin – brrrr!) In addition to my time as a classroom teacher, I also served for four years at the district level in the Teaching and Learning department as the ISD Math Specialist. The last three years I have had the privilege of supporting teachers and students as an assistant principal.
I love serving as an assistant principal! My passion is developing positive relationships with everyone within the community, working with students as they grow, supporting teachers and staff so that they can reach their greatest potential, strengthening a connection between school and home, and a fostering a positive school culture. I work closely with our school counselor, Jessica Morrison to support our 8th graders. At our core, we know that the school to home partnership is what allows us to provide an extraordinary school experience for all students. So parents, especially parents of 8th grade students, please feel free to reach out to me with questions, concerns or celebrations. The best way to reach me is via email. I look forward to meeting each of you (albeit, virtually) and learning how I can best support you throughout this unique year, and many more to come.
Go Lynx!
