ISD Elementary Parents,
On November 30, elementary report cards will be released through Family Access. See directions for accessing and viewing report cards here. Elementary conferences will be held December 2-3.
Due to remote learning during the COVID pandemic, report cards may look a little different for some. Here are some things to keep in mind as you review your child’s report card and plan for conferences:
- Trimester 1 grades are based on student achievement of Trimester 1 Essential Learnings.
- Grades are based on assessments, teacher observations of students during remote learning sessions and the collection of student work.
- If students participate in remote learning asynchronously, do not submit work to a teacher or do not attend sufficient class sessions, a teacher may mark some areas on the report card with an NA, meaning not assessed. A comment would be added explaining that due to COVID, insufficient evidence was available to make a determination of student learning.
Your conference with your teacher is a valuable opportunity to discuss your student’s progress, as well as the teacher’s observations and assessments. Conferences promote partnering together to best help your student learn and thrive in this new learning environment.
If you have not scheduled your student’s conference, please reach out to your student’s teacher to do so.
